Overview
Early Baptist services were held at Sea View the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Smith.
Daniel Smith purchased the land for the present site of the church, Mr. Ashby White of Wynyard was the builder. Two foundation stones were laid, one by Rev. Dunkley, Superintendent of the Baptist Home Mission and the other by Mr. Daniel Smith Sr.
The church was officially opened in 1910, by 1912 the church had eleven members. The first anniversary service was held in October 1911.
