Overview
Mr. Frederick Robert Ridler gave the land to build the church 'on a sort of perpetual lease - the land to always belong to the owner of the property at the time.
This church was built adjacent to settlement, with convict labour. In the mid 1920s gale force easterly winds together with floods, saw the church skid sideways. It was hauled back into its position. Then again in in the 1950s a westerly gale drove the building into the next paddock.
A newspaper report in October 1905 stated that a new Saltwater River Congregational Church was to be opened.
