Hill Street Church of Christ

This modern brick building was opened on 17th June 1923 in Hill Street, West Hobart. About 30 men from surrounding Christ of Christ members gave their time freely in excavating the site and concreting the foundations. The architect was Mr. A.J. Doran.

Mr. W. Woolley erected the building, porches and vestries and Mr C. Woolley did the joinery and carpentry. Inside it is plastered above the hardwood dado, has good lighting and well ventilated. The church was expected to comfortably seat about 250 people. The cost, including the land, building and all the furniture was approximately £1,500.

This church later used by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and was known as St Volodymyr.
