St Patrick's

St Patrick's Catholic church at Forest was opened in May 1911, the foundation stone had been laid 15 months earlier. The architect was Mr. S. Priest junior of Devonport. It was reported to have been built at a cost of between £1,400 and £1.500. Due to an unfortunate accident in which saw portion of the building destroyed the completion was months overdue.

The windows are arranged chamfered arches and the dado in the main part of the church is made of hardwood with massive skirtings. The walls are high and the ceiling also of hardwood. The church has five fine Gothic ventilators in stamped steel. The main large door is also of Gothic design. The church is 55 x 30 feet and can accommodate approximately 330 people. It was opened by Bishop Delany.
