Overview
A sketch for a new Catholic Church at Smithton appeared in the newspaper in October 1933. It was to be built of timber with a nave of 43 feet by 23 feet, the plans show a sanctuary, sacristy and porch. It was expected to accommodate 100 people plus a choir. The architects are Messrs. H. S. East and Roy Smith of Launceston.
The final construction was of brick.
