Overview
At the Wesleyan District meeting held at Ross in November 1887 permission was given for new churches to be erected at the following locations: Formby, BLACKMOOR, George's Bay and Wesley Vale.
The timber church was opened in the December quarter of 1887 with Rev. T. Kane the first minister. The following is a report of costs:
In 1887 £4 balance on deeds paid to Messrs. Martin & Hobkirk (solicitors).
In 1887 £82 and 15 shillings for the building to Mr. Richardson
In 1888 2 guineas for surveying one acre to Mr. Sorrell
The little church was sold in 1872 due to many Methodist's leaving the area. Today it is a private residence.
