Overview

In 1855, a weatherboard chapel, accompanied by a three-room dwelling, was constructed on a parcel of land generously donated by Mr. W. Motton.

The Examiner reported the following in March 1858:

WESLYEAN CHAPEL , Exton, near Westbury - On Sunday, the 4th of April, the Rev. J. A. Manton, of Horton College, Ross, will preach in the Wesleyan Chapel , Exton, in the morning at 11 o'clock ... collections will be made in aid of the funds of the Chapel.

On Sunday, the 9th of December 1885, the second church was erected and inaugurated, presided over by Reverend T.E. Cox. The following Monday witnessed a festive tea-meeting. The structure featured a meeting room alongside facilities for Sunday school.

According to The Examiner newspaper dated Wednesday, the 29th of September 1954, the Exton Methodist church was poised to commemorate its 99th anniversary.

Today, the edifice has been repurposed into a private residence.
