Breadalbane Methodist Church

Breadalbane came under the Evandale Methodist Home Mission Station, when it closed it became part of the South Launceston Circuit.

The Examiner newspaper reported that the old 125 year old convict built church at Breadlalbane was guttered by fire in March 1948.

- the committee formed to

proceed with the erection of a church at Breadalbane to replace the church

destroyed by fire at Easter

in 1948, has accepted plans

and specifications for a new

building.

The building will be of

weatherboards with iron

roof and caneite lining. It

will have dignified lines and

will accommodate 75 people.

The Rev. W. R. Manzoney,

Mr. W. L. Grace, District

Education Officer and the

architect. Mr. D. Pryor,

were present at the meeting.

It is hoped that after the

Evandale Council approves

the plans, an immediate

start will be made with the

erection.

This tiny building was the smallest chapel in Tasmania, it had a tiny congregation to match. Services were held every fortnight. The membership numbered only 3 people.
