Overview
The Salvation Army was first established at Cornwall in 1884, then closed in1895. A new Salvation Army Hall in Cornwall was opened October 1924. This building had formerly been situated in Lefroy. A large congregation attended the opening which was presided over by Captain Cullen and other attendees from around the district and Launceston.
Constructed of timber, the building measured 30 feet by 20 feet. It also featured an attached four-room dwelling designated for the officers' quarters.
Around the 1990s the building was sold and relocated to Irish Town east of St Marys.
