South Riana Anglican Church

The Anglican church at Cuprona was closed in 1921 and the building was cut into sections and moved by Mr. Walter Templar's horse drawn truck to its new location on the corner of Mr. Barker's property at South Riana Mr. Albert Grice a Penguin builder re-erected it with assistance of locals.

Throughout the years many harvest thanksgiving services were held with local farm produce on exhibition. On one such occasion in 1926 Archdeacon Atkinson conducted services for a large congregation. Afterwards Mr. G. Mainwaring acted as auctioneer with sales and collection realising £14.

South Riana - Church of England: The service conducted by Captain Thompson at the South Riana Church of England last Sunday afternoon was well attended and his augured well for the success of the mission being conducted in this centre this week. Captain Thompson is in charge of the Anglican mission van, and his touring the North West Coast on evangelical work. He recently conducted successful mission in Ulverstone and Devonport.

Families involved in the church moved away from the district and the church closed around 1943. Once again the church was moved, this time to West Pine.

The land title on which the church stood was never transferred so after the church was moved the land reverted back to the Barker family. In the 1980s a hedge marked the site in the south east corner of Mr John Barker's property.
