Overview

In his work Lefroy: Tasmania's Forgotten Gold Town, Peter Cox notes that Lefroy was home to two principal churches: the Anglican and the Wesleyan Methodist. Additionally, the Salvation Army, under the leadership of Captain Miller, established a barracks within the town.

The precise date of the Salvation Army's establishment in Lefroy, as well as the location of their barracks, remains undocumented. However, it is noted that the Salvation Army frequently conducted open-air events at various venues throughout the region.

An advertisement published in the Launceston Examiner in early September of 1895 announced that a "Harvest Field", illuminated by limelight, was scheduled to take place at 8 o'clock.

In 1924, this structure was relocated from Lefroy to Cornwall, another mining township.
