The congregation formally commenced on the 11 September 1965, when it became a congregation under the jurisdiction of the Victorian Presbytery of the PCEA. Previously the congregation had been part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (or Reformed Evangelical Church), a church which had commenced in Tasmania a few years earlier on the 28 September 1961.
Originally located at Penguin, the congregation relocated to Ulverstone in the early 1970's and in 1977 built the current worship centre located at 13 Leven Street.
