Overview

The first Anglican service was held in Mr. Fogg's store, then in 1868 a wooden church was built on the site of the cemetery in Leven Street, it remained there until 1890.

In April 1890 the church trustees were authorised to sell an unused part of the land to defray the cost of buying a new site more central. to the town. Plans were underway to build the new church on the corner of Badger and Patrick Streets, but the next year it was changed to 'next door to Mr. Smith's'. The old wooden church at the cemetery was moved to the new site and enlarged .

An ordination service took place in the new Ulverstone church in December 1893 . This church operated until the new brick building was opened in 1961.

See also No 1367 for the new brick church.
