A small private school with about 30 students was conducted in the building during the 1880s.

Annual sports were held at Creekton (property on the Blackwood Creek Road) on New Year's Day 1902, the proceeds £14 -6s raised from the tea went to renovate the church at Saundridge.

Robert J. Archer, on his retirement appointed his nephew Basil Archer and brother Alfred Archer as Chapel Trustees. A National Estate grant for the amount of $5000 toward the restoration of the building (1984-1995) was granted.
