Overview

A wooden church was erected in 1887, during the time Rev. Champion was rector at the Forth/Levon Parish. The church was first erected on Mr. J. Smith’s property, but eventually moved to a new location on the side of the main road leading through the district.

In early November 1934 a severe storm passed through the district, gale force winds destroyed this small wooden church; it was a heavy loss to the district

.

A new church was built and dedicated in mid-1938 with the Bishop of Tasmania officiating.
