Overview

S t. Paul's Church at Saggy Flat (later renamed Strickland) was dedicated in March 1911, this church was destroyed by fire in 1927.

In 1928 an iron church was built by Mr. G. Cooper of Ellendale, it was designed by Rev. W.F. Henslow. The dedication took place in early May 1929 by Bishop Hay with a large congregation in attendance. The building cost was £374, this was raised by the community and only £11 were owing when it opened.

Slowly the congregation declined and by 1968 only one family remained faithful. The following year the Minster required some time in hospital, it was then the district came to an end.
