Overview
In 1902, Brother and Sister Ben Young organized a significant event on their property by hosting the first Sabbath gathering near a captivating waterfall. Meanwhile, Pastor R.A. Thrift dedicated his efforts to serving the Smithton area, tirelessly laboring for the community's spiritual well-being.
On the 26th September 1931, 12 individuals were baptized into the Irishtown Seventh-day Adventist Church. The baptismal ceremony was officiated by F.G. Rampton and C.E. Bird.
A generous contribution was made by Mr. A.F. Bonney, who donated a tree that became instrumental in the construction of the church building. Members of the community utilized a sawmill to begin their work on the structure. Additionally, Brother G. Young played a vital role by donating the land on which the church was to be built. The cost was £2.10.0.
The church was dedicated on the 9th January 1932 by Pastors Rampton and Bird.
This building was sold for £100 in April 1956.
