Liffey Wesleyan Methodist Church

At a Wesleyan Methodist district meeting held in November 1871 sanctions were given for the erection of a small wooden chapel at Liffey. The land was donated by Mrs. Kerkham, and was situated on an elevated position. Built of timber it measured 27ft by 18ft with lath and plaster inside, and was expected to hold 100 persons. It was described as having a 'neat and comfortable' appearance. The opening service was conducted by the Rev. J. White of Launceston on Sunday 27th October 1872.

In February 1909 permission was given to move the church from Liffey and relocate it at Elphinstone.
