The Church of Ascension at West Pine was was opened by the Vicar-General Archdeacon H. B. Atkinson on the 12th November 1944. In his address the Vicar-General
Congratulated the congregation for its forward move in erecting a new church.
The design of the building was based on Riana's All Saints church. Some of the building materials came from the church and hall at South Riana.
