The Lower Barrington Wesleyan Methodist church opened in January 1890. It celebrated its second anniversary in January 1892 with a fete and various activities for the congregation.
Regular Sunday services were held in this church for over seventy years. In 1966 the church closed, it was sold by tender in 1974 to Mr. Les Campbell.
