Overview
The Fingal Station was a hiring depot and was situated about 8kms from Avoca on the Esk River.
The structures were primarily constructed of wood and were notably well-ventilated. The Chapel, in particular, stood as an exemplary edifice, designed with provisions to accommodate both settlers and prisoners. La Trobe's reported stated that this depot housed 314 convicts.
