Overview

The official opening of the Apsley Presbyterian church took place on 12th January 1914. This date was chosen for on this date in 1823 the Rev. A. McArthur conducted the first Presbyterian service in Tasmania (then Van Diemen's Land). The church opened free of debt.

Anniversary celebrations to mark 20 years were celebrated in the little weatherboard church in January 1934.

Around 2004 this church building was moved to Elizabeth Street, Bothwell. It is now a private residence.
