Funds for the building of a Presbyterian church at Beaconsfield begun in 1881, this coincided with a bazaar held in November of that year.

A meeting of a particularly interesting character took place at Beaconsfield on Monday evening last evening to commemorate the opening of the new Presbyterian Church. It took the shape of a tea-meeting, and in spite of an uncompromising downpour of rain, it was an unqualified success. The below photograph was taken in March 1908 after a fire destroyed the church and premises the of Messrs Forsyth and Zanker.

In October of 1908 a new foundation stone was laid, and the new church was dedicated in November 1908 by the Rev. J. Scott.
