Preston Methodist Church

Early Methodist services at Preston were held in private homes, one of which was the residence of Mr. James Peebles. Mr. William Delaney donated land and a fund was set up to raise the money for the building.

Tenders were called in October 1903 for the erection of the Methodist Church at Preston. The site was donated by Mr. William Delaney.

A comfortable Methodist church was opened on Sunday 20th December 1903 by Rev. W. Johns. Mr. E. Lloyd supplied the specifications for the building.

In January 1936 a meeting was held to discuss plans and specifications for a new Methodist Church at Preston. Mr. Harman's plans were approved, and tenders were to be called, the desire was to have it built before Winter. The new church was completed and dedicated by the Rev. A. Vineer in July 1936, with a large congregation in attendance.
