Overview

I n August 1906 the Daily Telegraph under the healing DUNLORAN wrote:

The residents of this district are pleased to learn that the much-desired hall for Dunorlan will soon be an accomplished fact. Mr. H. Reed has given land, and the council has promised £200, the residents finding the balance. It is expected that the work will soon be started.

The Dunorlan Hall committee met in March 1907 to inspect the progress of its construction. The contractor Mr. Knowles was expected to have it completed shortly.

Harvest and thanksgiving services were held by the Methodist and Presbyterian churches in the hall. The Catholic's also used the building for their annual ball. The Anglican's may have also conducted services here.

The current building was reported to have been built in 1930.

The Western Tiers newspaper in September 2002 stated that the Dunorlan Hall was expected to be sold by the Meander Valley Council, due to the fact it had not been used in four years. A memorial plaque was to be erected at the site (I don't believe this ever happened).

This building was sold in September 2021 as a partly fitted out private residence. In October 2023 it was still standing albeit unkept.
