Approval for a Presbyterian church to be built at Barrington was given in August 1893. The church was situated on a hill and was a landmark for the district.
About 1929 this church was shared with the Anglican's. Prior to 1929 the Anglican's held services in the state school.
The newspaper reported in May 1938 that the church building was being relocated to Gawler in the Ulverstone district.
