Holy Trinity

A new Church of England was built and opened for service in June 1878. It was built in 18 days, was a paling-lined building, at a cost of £70. The church served the West Tamar Goldfield area.

In 1882 there were plans to enlarge the church.

The foundation stone for the present church was to be laid 2nd August 1907 by D Mercer, the Bishop of Tasmania. The service to be entitled The diminutiveness of man, what about the primitiveness of woman?

The new church was dedicated in June 1909 with the first service held on 7th June 1909. The architect was Mr. Alexander North, it was constructed of wood with a nice wooden interior. The church was reported to have the capacity to seat 300 people when completely finished. The cost to date was about £680. Special thanks was conveyed for the donation by the congregation and Rev. Barkway of a lectern, marble cross and bible.

A bell tower was finished in 1925, but rebuilt in 1964.

This church was on the 1997 Anglican rationalisation list, in 2018 it was removed from the list.
