Overview
The Dairy Plains Hall was opened in May 1931.
The Examiner reported that the Dairy Plains Public Hall and its contents were destroyed by fire in January 1950. The hall, which had been constructed through voluntary labor approximately 20 years prior, it was insured. Over the ensuing years, local organisations raised funds to rebuild the hall.
A Bible discussion group emerged in Caveside, and in due course, two Jago families, who had previously been associated with the Exclusive Brethren, were baptized and joined Harry and Muriel Bott and family in the breaking of bread. As this small worship group grew, they relocated to Dairy Plains Public Hall, where over time, several others joined the assembly.
Regular reciprocal visits were exchanged with the Sheffield assembly. In 1970, in collaboration with the Liena congregation, they undertook the construction of a new modern chapel in Deloraine.
