Overview

The current brick building at George Town replaced the timber church that burnt down in 1994.

Between 1994 and 1998, the parish endured significant hardships following the destruction of the church. However, the Christian community united in support, generously donating furniture, Bibles, prayer and hymn books. With the assistance and cooperation of neighboring parishes, the congregation experienced renewed growth.

After nearly six years of holding services in a temporary parish hall, a new brick church was completed and opened in March 2000. The building was formally dedicated by Bishop John Harrower on 2 September 2000.

An open day was held on 8 April 2000, during which the public was invited to tour and inspect the newly completed church building.

Records indicate this was the 4th Anglican Church at George Town.

This church is now under the administration of All Saint's Parish of Launceston.
