Overview

In September 1892, the Zeehan and Dundas Herald announced that Wesleyan Church services were to be conducted at the Strahan State School by Rev. J. W. Grove, B.A., with services scheduled for 11 a.m. and 7 p.m on Sunday.

In 1895, Rev. R.H. Bailey had assumed the role of conducting services for the Wesleyan Methodists in Strahan, which included overseeing the Home Mission Station at Mount Lyell.

A new Wesleyan Church was subsequently constructed on Harvey Street, designed by Mr. J.H. McFarlane of Strahan. The building, measuring 38 feet by 23 feet, was capable of accommodating a congregation of 230 people. The flooring featured a 9-inch slope facing towards the rostrum. The Gothic-style edifice included two porches, with a vestibule situated between them.

This building was situated in Harvey Street between the Anglican and Catholic Churches on the same side as the Catholic Church.

This building no longer exists , with one source telling us it was sold and moved to the North-West Coast and another saying it was burnt down.
