Overview

St Thomas' foundation stone was laid in December 1880 and on Monday 2nd May 1881 the small wooden church was officially opened by Archdeacon Davenport. Two years later on the 5th June 1882 the church was consecrated.

Tenders were called in late March 1881 for the making of new seats for the church. Applicants were invited to send their quotes to Mr. Joseph Barwick at Tea Tree or Rev. J.K. Willmer at the Parsonage at Pontville by Friday the 1st April.

This building was listed for sale in 2018, and in February 2020 it was purchased by the community.
