Overview

The first church at White Hills was constructed at a cost of £900 of which £410 was a grant from the government. Expenses were claimed in June 1842 from the Audit Office by G. Wilkinson, Henry Stevenson and J.R. Thomas for the church at White Hills.

This church was built of brick and situated on the top of a hill, it had pleasant lancet windows and opened in January 1844.

WHITE HILLS CHURCH - The newly erected episcopal church at the White Hills is to be opened for divine service on Sunday next, at three o'clock.

It appears that another church was built and consecrated in December 1857.

THE St. Paul's Church, White Hills, will be consecrated, God willing, on Tuesday 15th instant. Service to begin at 11 a.m.

This church was demolished in 1882 and services were held in private residences.

The following advertisement was published in the Launceston Examiner newspaper Tuesday 28th November 1882.
