St Luke's

In November 1864, a newly constructed school, overseen by Mr. J. Keogh, commenced operations at Red Hills, fulfilling a dual role as a church for over 31 years.

The foundation stone of the weatherboard church was laid on the 17th of October 1894. Designed by Mr. Freeman of Deloraine and built by Mr. John Hooks of Latrobe, the project's total cost, inclusive of painting, amounted to £109-9-0. On the 9th of May 1895, it was formally inaugurated, having cleared all debts.

St Luke’s Church ceased operations in February 1977 and was subsequently purchased by Mr. Geoff Chilcott of Cressy. He converted it into a family residence, incorporating an additional storey into the structure.
