Overview

The opening of St Oswald's was reported in the Examiner newspaper in March 1894.

The Church of St, Oswald, which has been recently erected at the rising suburb of Trevallyn, was formally opened last night for public worship by the Right Rev. Dr. Montgomery, Bishop of Tasmania, who had travelled from Hobart expressly for the purpose.

The small wooden church was part of St John's parish, Launceston. In June 1925 the Weekly Courier reported that there was a dedication of the new porch, vestry and stained glass windows to the memory of the late Mr. Arthur Evans, who was a foundation member.

In 1953 at an annual meeting a proposal to combine St David's at Riverside; St Michael's at Rosevears, Bridgnorth and St Oswald's was discussed. Discussions continued for some time and in 1954 St Oswald's and St David's joined to form the parish of Trevallyn.

In 2018 this church was closed and listed for sale.
