Overview

Very little is known about the building used by the Anglican's as a church. The following was written by both Dorothea I. Henslowe and Geoffrey Stephens in their books about the Anglican Churches in Tasmania.

(New Norfolk parish). Church News of January 1921 reports 'a sanctuary added to the hall for services'. Not now in use.

The Mercury newspaper dated 12th December 1921.

HALL FOR TYENNA - CELEBRATION OF ITS OPENING
Not for many days has there been so many people and such noise and excitement as there was on Saturday at Fitzgerald, which lies at the end of the railway and road in the depths of the Tyenna timber valley. The cause of this stimulating into activity of the usually placid village, however, may be, fairly said to have justified it, for was it not the occasion of the opening of the long desired public hall as a mark of the enterprise of the people of the.district.
