Overview
The Wesleyan Methodist Church was designed by Crouch and Wilson of Melbourne. and built in 1870. Most of the stone came from quarries near Summerleas and Bridgewater. The building was designed to hold up to 350 people at any one time.
Large in size, much of the architectural elements were incredibly weak and in 1973 the church was purchased by St Peter's congregation for the amount of $55,000. Due to its weakness St Peter's moved to the Eastside Lutheran College.
The church building has since been sold to Hillsong.
